Paper instructions:
watch the disney movie wall-e and write about it and
answer the question in a essay
Ah, a robot that is designed (by Pixar at least) to teach
us something about human emotions – where have we
encountered that before? (Not that replicants are
actually robots, but you get the idea.) So, you have
several options for this last essay – 1) analyze the film
as a warning to Earthlings to clean up their act, before
we find it necessary to abandon the planet, 2) in terms
of what we learn from the people aboard the Axiom, 3)
in terms of what the film teaches us about the kinds of
human emotion and/or interactions that we have
seemingly forgotten how to express, or 4) combine
any of these ideas, as there is some interconnectedness
between them. You may, of course, reference any of
the other films we’ve screened this term as well.
Wall-e is a film that does a film with a lot of
emotion from two robots. Wall-e seems to be the only
robot on earth and by himself. Kind of like being the
only human around a bunch of different creature Wall-e
opens up a much larger picture for the views it deals
with a lot and especially opens our eyes to how we
treat our planet.
