Global, Economic, Social and Ethical Issues in Computing
This course presented and discussed four frames of decision making for information systems professionals. In the presentation of these four frames, language and vocabulary were introduced to facilitate analysis and to provide a context.
In a minimum of 5 pages,
• Define and discuss each of the frames presented in class, demonstrate how and why they are interwoven, and take a position as to which frame(s), if any, dominate–particularly focusing on the complexity of theimpact of technology on the issues of privacy and security.
• On the basis, of the class readings (Leonardo to the Internet) describe significant changes in the frames during the period of development, milestones of the changes in the frames, across the past periods of the development of technology (the preindustrial past, the age of scientific, political, and industrial revolutions).
• Define the terms you use and be sure to explain both your thoughts and examples.
• Finally, clearly discuss why these frames are an important part of the information systems profession’s decision making process.
Be sure to use specific examples throughout from both a European (global) and US point of view—pointing out similarities, differences, advantages, and disadvantages. Use your readings and the materials presented in class (and available on BlackBoard) to make your case. Organization of yourideas and letting the reader know what you are going to do, doing it, and recapping it is essential!
