Content:
To conceptualize this paper, you will need to begin by making two decisions about its content: 1) Identify an issue that you’d like to investigate. This may be a policy, research, public health, service delivery or other social/structural issue, but it should be an issue that directly impacts women’s health at the individual level. This issue may be related to a social problem a demographic trend, shifts in the shapes of families or gender roles, or some element of a specific culture or subculture. It must have some direct impact on women’s health you can analyze and discuss at length. (For instance, rising gas prices would not give you much to work with, but reductions in Medi-Cal payments for prenatal care would.)

2) Clearly identify a way in which this issue directly impacts women’s health so you can explain and analyze how and why this impact manifests. Make sure that this connection is clear to you before you begin writing. Use the background information we’ve covered in class to contextualize the issue and develop your analysis.
