Dynamic software development method

What do you expect to learn by choosing this particular title? Come up with 2-4 things that you might learn. These are your learning objectives. The learning objectives should guide your research and the direction of your article. Therefore, you need to do some background research before you construct your objectives.
For example, if you take the title, ‘Requirements: Why bother?’, the objectives could be:
? To research and learn the role of requirements in system development
? To Investigate the relationship between good requirements and business success
? To Investigate the effects of incomplete or incorrect requirements on system and organisational success
Milestone 1: Week 13
Discuss your objectives with Module Leader or Tutor
You need to bring to the class your title and the objectives. You need to be prepared to defend the suitability of your objectives.
In class: you will peer review titles and objectives chosen by your colleagues. You should look at both objectively and give formative feedback regarding their suitability.
When peer reviewing look at:
? The relevance of the objectives to the module
? How current the topic under discussion is
? The relevance to the industry or society
Step 3: Draft a report
Write an article of not more than 2500 words on your chosen title. Your article should be more critical and analytical than descriptive. Your ideas and arguments should be well supported by literature and if applicable by examples.
What you want to cover in your article is entirely up to you, be innovative. BUT the contents need to relate to the objectives you came up with.
You need to demonstrate your capability of:
? researching on the topic given,
? critically analysing the facts gathered,
? deriving your own ideas and views on the subject based on the facts gathered and your own experience/knowledge on the subject,
? abstracting ideas and information on the given topic from various sources without breaking copyright issues or committing plagiarism, and
? presenting your ideas and views in a coherent manner.
When marking your work we will especially look for originality (presenting ideas in your own words).
The material included in the article should be properly cited with references indicating the sources from which they have been taken. Not doing so will be considered as plagiarism.
Milestone 2: Week 14
Review of work done so far
This is an essential part of the assignment. Non-attendance will be penalised by 5%.
You should be prepared to present the work done so far (both written and if requested by your tutor, by presentation) to your peers. The work presented will be discussed and feedback given. You should use this opportunity to get feedback on your work, clear any doubts you have, ask any questions (both from your peers and your tutor).
I hope you will use this as a part of your learning process, correct any mistakes, and learn from your peers.
Milestone 3: Week 19
Submission of the final report

Week 18 task : Prepare presentation slides and submit by email to Mohamed Sheriff
Milestone 4: Weeks 20 and 21
Presentations – must be attended by all students (there is a 5% penalty for non attendance of any of the presentations)

Prepare a 10 minute presentation on your work done. This will be followed by a 5 minute question time. Your presentation will be marked by your lecturers, by your peers and by yourself.
