Use at least 4 out of the 6 elements (suffering, maladaptiveness, deviancy, violation of standards of society, social discomfort, irrationality and unpredictability) to explain how this individual?s behaviors are consistent with the various dimensions. (1-2 pages)
2) Using the causal models of abnormality (biological, psychological, socio-cultural) describe factors that you believe may have caused this individual to have a mental illness/abnormal behavior. If it is not explicitly stated in your source, you can give a hypothetical explanation of why this person may have such a behavior(s). Provide at least 3 different causal explanations. (1-2 pages)
3) Did the individual receive treatment? If so, describe the treatment he/she received? If not, what are your thoughts regarding why the individual did not receive treatment. (1/2-1 page)
4) What are your thoughts about how this person/character is depicted in the film, novel, or book that you chose? Does the portrayal seem accurate, sensationalized, inaccurate, etc.? In your opinion, how does this portrayal of mental illness affect society?s perceptions of the mentally ill? (1/2-1 page)
