Essential elements for this proposal are (1) establishing why the knowledge area is worthy of exploration; (2) describing the research question and how the student arrived at this question from readings; (3) setting the limits and scope of the project; and (4) explaining the desired outcome and value of this research and why it is significant to readers. Headings may be used and a reference list of research to date must be provided.
