Philosophy of Curriculum

Philosophy of Curriculum
Here is the description in the Syllabus.. I also have an outline that I can send. Along with my results from my curriculum orientation profile. I already completed the introduction which I can add in later. I will upload the outline of required elements, and one of the sources has to be the text: Henson, K.T. (2010). Curriculum planning: Integrating multiculturalism, constructivism, and education reform. 4th ed. Long Grove, IL: Waveland Press, Inc.

Write an essay in which you articulate your personal philosophy of curriculum leadership. Begin by summarizing the results of your Curriculum Orientation Profile. Discuss these results in relation to an established educational philosophy (pragmatism, progressivism, essentialism perennialism, and a contemporary educational theory (behaviorism, cognitivism, constructivism, humanism, reconstructionism). For example, if you had a total of ten 1’s (cognitive processes) and six 2’s (technology) you are probably a cognitive constructivist with essentialist leanings, which means you tend to view the curriculum in terms of information (essential knowledge and skills) that students must acquire and be able to use in order to think critically, solve problems, and make decisions.
Next, select a curriculum development model (Taba, Tyler, Oliva, Saylor & Alexander, Macdonald, Zais, Tomlinson) that represents key aspects of your curriculum philosophy, and explain your rationale for selecting it. Import a diagram into the text of your paper that shows the conceptual architecture of the model. With reference to the diagram, explain the model and describe the steps that a curriculum leader using it would follow in constructing a guaranteed and viable standards-based curriculum that meets the needs of 21st century diverse learners.
In the body of your paper you will address the five questions listed below. Your responses to these questions should include references to key ideas and concepts related to curriculum planning, such as core curriculum content standards, high-stakes testing, spiral curriculum, ascending intellectual demand, conceptual scaffolding, data-driven decision-making, 21st century skills and competencies, curriculum alignment* and the doctrine of “no surprises,” performance-based assessment, backwards design, and closing the achievement gap. Use citations from assigned readings, lectures, and course handouts to support your statements as you respond to each of the following questions:
[1] What should be the purpose of education?
[2] What is most important for students to learn?
[3] What should be the role of the teacher in relation to curriculum?
[4] What should be the role of the administrator in relation to curriculum?
