The Role of Culture

Culture influences the whole person. There are many universals and many culture-specific aspects. This is true for mental processes, behaviors, emotions, language, communication, social relationships, ethics, and many other areas discussed in the textbook. Embracing these realities helps people avoid ethnocentrism and even recognize the need and value of diversity. Prepare a 10- to 15-slide Microsoft PowerPoint presentation with speaker notes. Answer the following questions in your presentation:

How does your culture influence your behavior? Provide examples.
How does your culture influence the way you think? Provide examples.
How does your culture influence how you express your emotions? Provide examples.
How does your culture influence your social interactions (family, friends, and co-workers)? Provide examples.
How does your culture influence your view of diversity? Provide examples.
How does your culture influence the manifestation of ethnocentrism in your life? Provide examples.
How does your culture influence your personal and professional ethics? Provide examples.

Note: Slide count does not include title slide. This is an academic presentation at the master’s level.
