Write a paper reviewing a peer-reviewed article about an ethical need in the Pediatric setting. It can be home care, acute care, or general care.

The student will find the article. The instructor recommends search words such as: Ethics, Ethical care, Pediatric, Child, infant, adolescent, children, ethical issues, nursing care, etc., although the student may use other search words. The librarian may be helpful. Find something of interest to you. The paper is due week 4.

 

· The entire paper must be in APA 7th edition formatting. The instructor has provided a template – use it.

· Each paragraph requires at least 3 sentences but a sufficient number to respond completely to each section.

· Do not copy and paste the information from the article into the paragraph. Analyze, paraphrase, summarize, etc. with appropriate citations. Do your own work.

· Do not use more than one quote per six sentences.

· Upload a copy of the article.

· Turnitin will generate a report when you turn it in. While the percentage of unoriginal work is reviewed, the content is reviewed and is more important than a percentage number. Revise as needed and resubmit.

 

Paper must include:

· Cover page in APA 7th edition

· In the Introduction, include:

· What is an ethical dilemma?

· What is the dilemma in this article?

· What will be included in this paper (the thesis)?

· The body of the paper should include at least, but not limited to the following:

· What is the ethical problem from the article you selected?

· Provide a brief background to the problem

· Describe the solution the writers implemented.

· From the student’s point of view, what thoughts do you have regarding this problem and generalize about caring for client’s in the pediatric setting. (You may write this section in first person.)

· Write a conclusion, include:

· A brief summary of the contents of the paper.

· Final words of wisdom.

 

Do not use first or second person in the paper. The only section that first person may be used is in the opinion section.

 

Consider using headings for the different sections.

Reference page must be APA 7th edition formatted. At least 3 references including the article chosen. The references are peer-reviewed and less than 7 years old. Use the textbook as well. If you choose a website for supporting documentation use only .gov, .edu, or .org websites.
