The final paper should be between five and seven pages (minimum five full pages) in standard formatting (double-spaced, 12-point font, 1-inch margins, etc.). All sources should be cited in MLA (or equivalent) format; you may use either in-text citations or footnotes. Your paper should follow a standard academic format: an introduction, including a thesis statement (see below); body paragraphs dealing with specific examples and analysis; and a conclusion. It should follow a clear and logical progression and work to articulate a specific argument.
