Using an example from a country of your choice, critically evaluate either a contingency plan or business continuity plan based on a common rapid onset or slow onset hazard.
(a) In your introduction you will clearly state the thesis of your argument and provide your essay outline.
(b) You will define contingency or business continuity planning, including the key critical elements or criteria, which you will use to evaluate the contingency plan.
(c) You provide a brief description of the hazard and vulnerability context of your chosen case study.
(d) You will critically examine a contingency plan or business continuity plan of your chosen case study using the critical elements or criteria you outlined in (b).
(e) You will conclude by synthesising your arguments, with a clear judgement on the future directions of contingency or business continuity planning.
3. Select a country other than the UK focusing on its approach to emergency management. Examine its constitutional and statutory basis and any guidance or procedures which exist. This can, if desired, be in conjunction with, and in the context of, one of that nation’s emergency services’ command proc
