Hi this is guide line for paper. I will attach readings I only have 2 sources out of 3. Last one is a book, I guess you really need to read this book too. However, I do not have that book. So if can get by yourself it will be great but if not let me know.

Paper #1
Please respond to one of the following prompts in four to five pages. The point in your
response is to demonstrate that you can read, think, and write critically about primary
sources. Be sure to use specific examples from the sources to support your main
argument. Your paper will be evaluated based on the quality of its thesis, structure, use
of evidence, analysis, and style.

1. Compare and contrast the interactions between “the civilized” and “the
uncivilized” in The Epic of Gilgamesh and the Chronicle of the Narváez
Expedition. What do these two primary sources tell us about who is considered
civilized and who is not?

2. The emergence of global trade networks from the sixteenth century brought
individuals from different cultures and economic systems into contact with one
another. Using the Chronicle of the Narváez Expedition and the documents on
Olaudah Equiano and Mahommah Gardo Baquaqua (from the “sugar
documents”), compare the ways in which both Cabeza de Vaca and African slaves
related to their new surroundings. How did they adapt to their new physical and
cultural environments?

The paper must be between four and five pages in length, double-spaced, and printed in
12-point font. Cite readings using parenthetical (in-text) citations (e.g., Cabeza de Vaca,
56). Please use standard one-inch margins and put page numbers on every page but the
first. Do not use a title page. Your paper must be stapled, and must contain your name,
your GSI’s name, and your section number.
