The Foundations of Work & Organisational Psychology are covered in the first four lectures of this module:
• Research Foundations (Week 2)
• Individual Differences (Week 3)
• Attitudes and Behaviour at Work (Week 4)
• Motivation at Work (Week 5)

Pick two of the the above topics to cover in your assignment and focus on specific theories or concepts within each.

For example you might choose to critically evaluate:

• The Big Five model of personality (Week 3) and job satisfaction (Week 4)
or
• Theory of Planned Behaviour (Week 4) and goal setting (Week 5)
or
• cognitive ability (Week 3) and Expectancy Theory (Week 5)

These are only suggestions. You are free to choose which topics you want to cover so long as you cover two of the ‘foundation topics’ (as listed above). There are no ‘right’ areas to use. You will be marked on your ability to discuss the theory and research on the two areas you choose.

Illustrate your argument through examples of own experience at work

Your essay should review and discuss relevant research and theory, and then draw on your own experiences at work to illustrate your arguments and discussion.
