this task goes well beyond description of the issue and requires the development of a coherent strategy. In
addition to identifying and describing the issue briefly you are required to:
• Identify a clear framework for approaching the issue
• Give a rationale for why this framework is appropriate
• Describe the specific tasks and strategies you would use and the community development skills
employed to approach the issue, including how/who you would work with the community and the various
stakeholders in the issue
• Present ideas about what the expected outcomes of the strategy would be and how you might evaluate
the extent to which they had been achieved.
This assignment is all about thinking through the process from identifying an issue to planning and
implementing a strategy that would resolve the issue in a way that can be shown to have made a
difference. It requires you to not only put forward a strategy, but to rationalise why you would do what
you propose to do.
