Who determines a person’s identity if that person is a woman, uneducated, or a minority. Who is most responsible for your identity, and how can you relate to each of the three works “The Awakening”, “My Fair Lady”, and “The Fire Next Time”

Everything I want in this essay is on the outline that I’ve attached. It just need to be put together correctly and maybe a little added. My other attachment is the direction I was trying to go.

Topic: Who determines a person’s identity if that person is a woman, uneducated, or a minority. While we may not fall under all of these labels, we most certainly can relate to some of the struggles present for our protagonists and offer praise or criticisms for the decisions they made when allowing others to interfere or take part in molding their identities. During this critical time in your lives, you must also make decisions concerning your future. Who is most responsible for your identity, and how can you relate to each of the three works “The Awakening”, “My Fair Lady”, and “The Fire Next Time”.

Intructions: Must have a introduction , three analytical body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The total word count for the essay should be at least 750 words. A standard, five-paragraph essay.Avoid 2nd person.Avoid vague wording.Avoid passive voice.

I’ve picked the three components that could be responsibe for a persons identity: Family, environmrnt, and religion. I also have the conclusion.

Three of a Kind
C.S. Lewis said, “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” He illuminates how faith can define a character and how a character can view the world. Do all things happen for a reason? In the heart and soul of C.S. Lewis he believes that the consequence of our sin was just God’s Will and there’s a reason for it than facing the real reason for it: our sin. As a young man influenced by friends at Oxford who were thoughtful believers, Lewis experienced religious conversion. Similar to C.S. Lewis, Edna’s identity was determined by the people around her at that point in time. As for Eliza, the betrayal of her father determined her identity. The identity of James is due to religion, although confused about which religion fits him best. Characters throughout literature and individuals in reality are defined by the groups with which they belong; three major components responsible for character development include family, religion, and environment.
In My Fair Lady, Eliza’s identity is owed in part to being sold for 5 pounds. Alfred Doolittle acts as though he does not need her, and she is left feeling unwanted. “As a daughter she’s not worth her keep; and so I tell you straight.”(pg. 41)
