How can you push your paper further from a report and closer to a an analysis paper? What do you think about the information you gathered? What kinds of conclusions could you draw from those facts? You come closest to this in your conclusion. You should be placing your thesis – your analysis – in the introductory paragraph. That paragraph should then serve as a road-map for the rest of the paper. A careful reader should be able to write a short summary based on the material there. Following the introductory paragraph, each body paragraph should begin with a persuasive topic sentence that both supports the thesis and presents that paragraph’s main idea. Remember that a paragraph is typically about five sentences long. Therefore, if your paragraph is much shorter, you might want to either expand on the ideas there or combine them with another paragraph. Please let me know if you have any questions.
