Grade Value:  250 Points (25% of overall semester grade)

MLA FORMAT: 

You need a works cited page, and you must use proper in-text citation (also called parenthetical citation/documentation) for all paraphrasing, summarizing, and quoting.

Common problems to avoid:  works cited page errors, in-text citation errors, incorrect block quotation, dumped quotes, incorrect use of historical present tense, punctuating titles.

Grading Rubric:  All literary critiques and research papers will be evaluated using the Hinds District English Department Scale/Chart for English Composition II, which is accessible from the left-hand menu of our course under Course Content.  Failure to submit the outline with the essay will result in a letter-grade reduction.

PLAGIARISM is unacceptable and will result in a zero.  Depending on the severity of the case, it could be turned over to the school.  Avoid plagiarism at all costs.
