It is a group work. Each group should not have more than two members. One can work individually without being in a group.

Font: 12 pt, Times New Roman; Margin: one inch from all sides, Page should be numbered. Cover page will not be numbered. Cover page will have names of all the members. Spacing: double spaced. No need for table of contents. Graphs and Tables must be nicely presented in the main body of the paper. Source data/graph should be mentioned.

Length: The paper should be approximately 15-page long including cover page and references. It may be little larger or smaller. I give more weight on quality than on quantity.

Plagiarism/cut and paste will not be allowed at all. If you want to use other authors ideas word for word, do it properly by putting those under quotations. Otherwise, write in your words. Do not use too many quotations because it will reduce your own

The second paper will be a summary of the assigned book. The length requirements are the same as that of the seminar papers (5-7 pages which includes the title page, and the bibliography page). One of the biggest challenges for new healthcare managers/directors to understand is the payer source of the revenue side of their budgets.  Where does this money come from?  How is the plan, no matter the type administered?  Who is the "gatekeeper" of care for the beneficiary?  What are the types of insurer programs- underneath the alphabet soup of payers?  (PPO, HMO, POS etc.)

In an essay:

1.  Describe the primary strengths and advantages, and weaknesses and disadvantages, of each type of managed care plan. 

2.  Describe the impact of PPACA-Obama Care on the managed care process.  This will require a little research, make sure you consider how this will impact Medicare and Medicaid, along with Commercial insurance carriers.
